Japanese Drift Master is a realistic open-world driving game developed in Unreal Engine 5.
I was responsible for a wide range of visual effects, shaders, and technical systems related to vehicle behavior and environment interaction.
My work included:
• Development of an advanced particle system reacting to road surface types (asphalt, mud, gravel, grass, etc)
• Exhaust FX, smoke, backfire, and nitro effects
• Realistic post-processing systems for speed, boost, and environmental feedback
• Optimization and material blending tools for road transitions and terrain integration
• Support tools for level designers to implement VFX efficiently
The effects were integrated and tested across both Unreal Engine 4 and 5 during production.
